Science fiction in-jokes just aren’t funny any more

But yeah, in-jokes are the weakest form of humor. Instead of being outrageous, counter-intuitive, clever or weird or any of the other things a joke can be, they're just sort of comforting. In fact, they're like the oatmeal of humor. They're warm and familiar and have the same consistency all the way down. Your spoon can stand straight up in a bowl of in-jokes.

Weird-ass Post Apocalyptic Comedy - The Bed Sitting Room

If "Monty Python's Flying Circus" had never existed, Richard Lester would still have invented it. In 1970 he directed "The Bed-Sitting Room," a film which so uncannily predicts the style and manner of Python that we think for a moment we're watching television. The movie's dotty and savage; acerbic and slapstick and quintessentially British...

It's an after-the-Bomb movie, but like no other. It takes place at some time in the fairly immediate future, after England and (we gather) the rest of the world have been almost wiped out by a nuclear war. A few people still survive. Some of them ride on an endlessly circling underground train (powered by an earnest young man peddling a bicycle). Others roam through the debris above. They try to appear as proper as possible by wearing the right clothes. From his midriff up, for example, the BBC announcer wears a tuxedo. Everything below is rags, but you can't see that when he's broadcasting (which he does by holding a TV set in front of his face and talking.)

WANT! Paul, the new Simon Pegg and Nick Frost comedy!

The official plot synopsis:

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost reunite for the comedy adventure Paul as two sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America’s UFO heartland. While there, they accidentally meet an alien who brings them on an insane road trip that alters their universe forever. For the past 60 years, an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) has been hanging out at a top-secret military base. For reasons unknown, the space-travelling smart ass decides to escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town—a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy (Pegg) and Clive Collings (Frost). Chased by federal agents and the fanatical father of a young woman that they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship. And as two nerds struggle to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes.

David Tennant is going to get married to daughter of former Doctor Who...

... who also, in a very complicated way also played Doctor Who, causing thus the (geek girls) universe to explode.

The only accepted time to start a sentence with "I'm a doctor" is when you'r Doctor Who (or someone is dying) 

This is going to get complicated, so bear with me!
David Tennant, the Tenth Doctor, is going to marry Georgia Moffet, who is the daughter of Peter Davidson, who was the Fifth Doctor. Nice, isn't it? But no, it gets messier!

"Will she have time for him? Ask various geek girls, just to be slapped silly for the bad pun"

She also played the Doctor's daughter, which was a clone of the Doctor, making her sort of 10 and 1/2 Doctor.
